Guadalupe River Monarchs
Spotted a few Monarch butterflies along the banks of the Guadalupe River yesterday afternoon. This is the earliest I've seen the Monarchs along the river, roughly a month ahead of schedule. What this tells me is pretty simple....get ready for a cooler than average winter this year.

That photo is actually of a Queen - a Monarch mimic, great shot!
ReplyDeleteThank you Heidi! The annual Monarch migration to Mexico was roughly 1 month early this year. Sure enough, several weeks later we had an extremely early cold front event here in Texas....they flew out ahead well before it occurred.
