Working the Fenceline
I caught this old boy working the new spring sprouts along a fenceline. He was cautious, majestic and simply beautiful! From a quick whitetaiil review, from someone who spends hours afield watching these animals, he is about as healthy as a whitetail buck in post winter conditions can get! Note his extra weight, belt busting fat, near his loins. This old boy is literally carrying a small pouch of fat...telling me he has done well through our recent winter "open range" conditions.
I live in the western region of the Edwards Plateau, deep in the Texas Hill Country. I'm an avid outdoorsman spending a large portion of my time "out there" roaming the wide open spaces. Much of my photography is simply an extension of a very active outdoor lifestyle.
The challenges posed with closing the distance, pursuing wildlife photography, is an absolute hoot for me! The experience out there alone is everything to me. If I capture pixels along the way , it's icing on the cake.
